Change is a Good Thing

So I thought I was getting back into this...turns out, I’m still way too busy to write. Since my last post, a lot has happened. I enjoyed Christmas celebrations with my London family before heading home to enjoy Christmas with my family and friends back home. It was great to be home and I returned to London on a high only to have my world as I knew it, turned upside down. I got off the airplane, collected my luggage and started my journey to work all within three hours of landing. When I arrived back at work, I was given the news that I was no longer going to be working with my 1:1 of seven months and was being moved classes with no explanation of the reason why. I was heartbroken, confused, overtired, and angry. I quickly had to accept the fact that this was happening and I had no say in the matter because my new class was expecting me. I went from a class with few behaviour incidents and verbal children, to a class with a high number of behaviour incidents and non-verbal children. In the first 6 weeks of term, I questioned so many things about what I thought I wanted out of my chosen career path. I quickly realized that any experience I gain in these two years is good experience. It’s been an adjustment I wasn’t prepared for but thanks to support from my new teaching group and many staff around the school, it became my new normal at work. Outside of work, life has been as good as ever! I went to see The Lion King on stage with my London family and the movie will never be able to match the experience of seeing it live. I experienced my first “London Snowstorm” and reminded myself how fun it is to play in the snow. I am slowly checking off my London Bucket List. I have started to plan my summer travel plans. I’ve started to think about what My life will look like when I get home at the end of all of this. September will come quickly but I can’t wait to see what my last 6 months in London have in store.
